Oval carabiners seem old-fashioned now, there are a few in my retired pile along with “D” shaped carabiners — the pre off-set D types!

I do have new ovals for toprope anchors and aid climbing but feel less dated after seeing some of the befits of the venerable oval. Check out this interesting clip from Slactivity.
