The Dusk Wall Project: day 1

The antithesis of the Dawn Wall Project! An ongoing project to aid climb a route that possibly has only ever been free-climbed before. An attempt by a climber who has not only reached his prime but is well past it. Dusk meaning several things here. The wall is facing west and attempted at the end of the day (when conditions are perfect i.e. it’s not my turn to cook dinner or drive the kids to ballet / soccer). The route “Old Dog New Tricks” is appropriate too in that I’m just learning to aid climb. The wall is on the other side of the earth and quite short… everything opposite but still a fun challenge. Day one achieved 1m altitude: have thought a lot about the bottom anchor for the self belay set up so day 2 should see more progress… stay tuned!
